This is Audditude's own first-pass screen for autistic traits — a plain-language look at the patterns that most often go unrecognised in adults.
It covers the core areas that shape an autistic experience: social communication, sensory sensitivity, a need for routine and predictability, deep focused interests, and the everyday cost of masking. It's written to reflect how these traits actually feel from the inside, rather than how they look to an outside observer.
An Audditude original, developed in-house and informed by the published autism-research literature (including the constructs behind the AQ, RAADS-R and BAPQ) — but with entirely original wording and scoring. It's clearly labelled a 1★ original: research-informed, and not yet independently validated.
If you've long felt different in ways you couldn't name, this is a gentle, structured place to start. It isn't a diagnosis, but it can help you decide whether autism is worth exploring further — and it feeds into the fuller cross-instrument picture the Atlas builds with you.
